Technology / Specs
Callaway's 2013 X Hot hybrids are the perfect complement to their high-performance X Hot irons. With their advanced engineering and revamped technology, these clubs are designed to maximize distance through super-charged ball speeds.
Features and Technology
Each X Hot hybrid features a Speed Frame Face that is 15% thinner than 2012's RAZR X hybrid. Speed Frame technology enhances face stiffness for a higher characteristic time (CT). This makes the transfer of energy from the club to the ball more efficient, which results in faster ball speeds and more consistent distance, even on mis-hits. (According to Callaway, the new faces add an average of 3 yards of distance in comparison to the RAZR X hybrids.)
Each of the X Hot hybrids also comes with a Warbird sole plate, which brings the technology that made Warbird woods so popular in the 1990s into the 21st century. This modernized version has a precise design that optimizes relief in the heel and toe. This gives the club superior playability from almost any lie. The X Hot's head is also specially shaped to give players the forgiveness and distance of a fairway wood with the accuracy and control of an iron. Its incredible versatility makes these hybrids ideal for replacing hard-to-hit long irons.
X Hot Pros
For better players, Callaway also offers the X Hot Pro hybrids. These have the same technology as the standard X Hot hybrids but with a smaller footprint that low-handicap golfers often prefer. Both models feature square face angles at address, but the X Hot Pro has less offset and the shafts are 0.75" shorter. In addition, the standard X Hot hybrid is available in 19°, 22°, 25° and 28° lofts, while the X Hot Pro comes in 16°, 18°, 20° and 23° versions. The loft options are stronger than those of the RAZR X hybrids to help close the gaps between the X Hot fairway woods and the X Hot irons. Both the X Hot and X Hot Pro hybrids come with lightweight Project X Velocity graphite shafts.
Both the X Hot and X Hot Pro hybrids have a smooth look with glare-reducing matte black finishes and red detailing. The Callaway and X Hot branding is limited to the soles and shafts, which sets them apart from the more prominent branding of other companies' newly introduced hybrids. The refined aesthetic of Callaway's X Hot hybrids matches their refined technology.
