    Description

The Callaway X Hot iron has a distinctive cleaner look and softer feel compared to its predecessor, the RAZR iron. The Speed Frame Technology takes a combination of the VFT and Hyperbolic technologies to create a larger sweet spot and increase ball speed across the face for longer, more consistent distance, even on mis-hits. The Feel Management technology features a dual material medallion that is designed to fine-tune sounds and produce a crisp feel even at higher ball speeds. This iron is Callaway’s longest iron ever!

    Technology / Specs

    Callaway X Hot Pro Irons

At a time when it seems that every golf brand is incorporating driver-inspired flexibility in their irons, Callaway stands apart from the rest with its innovative X Hot series. These irons' aggressive new design and distinctive technology combine to bring maximum performance to golfers everywhere.

    Technology

The X Hot irons' breakthrough feature is the deep undercut cavity in its redesigned face. The cavity is engineered specifically to lower the face, and with it, the Center of Gravity. This accommodates most iron shots, which are hit lower on the face, to accelerate ball speed on center and off-center hits.

Another great feature of the Callaway X Hot is the Speed Frame face technology. Speed Frame is a combination of Callaway's VFT and Hyperbolic Face Technology that expands the sweet spot to promote longer and more consistent distance. It also enhances Moment of Inertia with an advanced weight distribution system created by a special chemical milling process. Speed Frame has been used by Callaway drivers like RAZR X, but the X Hot mark the first time it has been used in Callaway irons.

The third prominent feature of the X Hot irons is Feel Management Technology. As its name suggests, Feel Management Technology helps the iron produce a crisper, more vibrant feel by using a dual-material medallion on the back of the clubhead.

    Callaway X Hot Pro Irons

    Callaway X Hot Pro Irons

For the more advanced player, Callaway offers the X Hot Pro irons. These stainless steel irons have the same basic technology as the standard X Hot, but they also have extra features designed to amplify accuracy, power and feel. One of these features is J-Face Dynamics technology, which boosts face thickness control for explosive ball speed and distance. The other unique feature is Callaway's 20-degree Close Spaced V-Grooves, the brand's most precise groove design. The grooves have been shown to increase backspin up to 1000 RPM more than the RAZR X irons, according to Callaway.

Other differences between the standard X Hot and X Hot Pro irons are in the head shape. The standard X Hot has a wider sole and more offset than the X Hot, while the X Hot Pro has a more compact size and blade length. The standard X Hot also has a rear chamber in the sole to minimize ground contact. This is not featured on the X Hot Pro irons.

The standard X Hot irons come with two flex options as well as standard on True Temper Speed Step 85 lightweight steel shafts. The X Hot Pro irons come with True Temper Project X 95 shafts in three flexes along with the standard option.

    Style and Design

The visual design of the Callaway X Hot irons includes an eye-catching "X" in the cavity along with red accents and subtle branding. The two models look very similar, but the Pro version has a more prominent "X" in the cavity due to its additional technology.

With the X Hot series, Callaway did more than just add driver technology to its irons. Thanks to its award-winning Research and Development team, Callaway has created its longest iron ever.
