    Technology / Specs

The Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond driver is designed with the better player in mind. When we say better player, we’re referring to low handicappers, club champions, accomplished amateur players, and tour players. These players tend to have higher ball speeds and have extremely consistent ball striking skills. They are looking for more workability out of a driver because they already hit the center of the club so forgiveness is the last thing they’re looking for. All of these players have one thing in common - they’re looking for the lowest spin possible out of a driver to maximize their distance. The Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond driver will generate maximum distance from the extremely low spin that it produces. In fact, it’s the lowest spinning driver they’ve ever made.

Callaway has found a new face technology called RMOTO. It provides a stable face structure with less weight. The “leftover” weight is redistributed in the clubhead design to move the center of gravity (CG) low and more forward to aid in lowering the spin and producing more speed and distance. In order to get the distance out of the Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond driver however, you’ll need to generate enough clubhead speed.

The crown and shape of the driver have been modified, for multiple reasons. First, the tour players love a deep face so Callaway gave it to them. Second, a modification was necessary to accommodate the larger Gravity Core. The taller Gravity Core allows you even more tenability than before. It creates greater spin disparities in the high and low position, without altering the loft or face angle. When the Gravity Core is in the lower position it generates up to 100 rpm lower than the previous model.

Becoming a staple on Callaway’s drivers is the OptiFit adjustability. This adjustable hosel offers eight ways to adjust the loft and lie angle, including Draw and Neutral settings. The Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond driver is available in 9 and 10.5 degrees of loft and will come complete with the Aldila Rouge shaft as the stock shaft option. If one of the hottest growing shafts on tour isn’t for you, Callaway is now offering twelve different premium/exotics shaft custom shaft options at no upcharge.

As you can see, EVERYTHING about this driver is geared towards the better player. So if that’s you, look no more. The perfect driver has just been created for you!
